You can increase or decrease your field of view, meaning you can choose to see more of your surroundings or see things at a closer range. The stick clicks can only be swapped, meaning you cannot remap the change targets or the camera reset to other button functions. However, Dante is the only character where you can remap the individual D-pad buttons. The game allows you to remap certain controls based on function, ability or preference. If you turn on camera tracking, the camera will turn with your character as you turn left and right meaning you can play the game with only one stick. You will know that Auto Assist is on because the word Auto will appear in the top right corner of the game screen. This can be turned on in the Game Menu or by holding down R3 or RS, in game. The game has an Assist Mode that allows you to perform several attack combos by pressing a single button rather than multiple buttons. D-pad Down activates the Royal Guard style. D-pad Right activates the Sword Master style. D-pad Left activates the Gunslinger style. The D-pad allows you to change your attack style. L2 or LT changes your guns, Whilst R2 and RT changes your close-range weapon.

Dante also has a Devil Trigger just like V and pressing L1 or LB activates this. Pressing Circle or B will perform V’s finishing move. V will need to finish off damaged enemies himself, for his demons cannot do so. For Xbox this would be LT with either X or Y. Pressing L2 with either Square or Triangle makes these demons more powerful. The purple bar fills up as you’re reading your book.
